Seven Breathing Rhythms

Observing Breath
Relax and simply observe the in and out, the rising and falling of your breath, from any location you choose within your body. Enjoy your involuntary breathing capacity.

Base of the spine
Color: Red
Attitude: I receive security. I give security. I am secure.
Measured Breath: Inhale to count of four, stretch end of inhale to count five and six. Exhale to count of four, slightly tighten abdominal muscles on five and six.

Lower abdomen
Color: Orange
Attitude: I receive creativity. I give creativity. I am creative.
Extending Breath - Inhale through the nose and exhale with a blow through the mouth, making a sound like dolphins do when they come to the surface. Freely let go with your exhale.

Solar plexus
Color: Yellow
Attitude: I receive power. I give power. I am powerful.
Receiving Breath -Slowly expand the in breath while making a sound in the back of your throat, then let gravity push the breath out.

Heart / Lung area
Color: Emerald Green
Attitude: I receive devoted compassion. I give devoted compassion.
I am devoted compassion.
Circular Breath - Connect the inhale and exhale in four short, relaxed breaths. Follow with one longer, slower, relaxed breath. Do a set of five then pause before beginning another set.

Throat / Neck area
Color: Sky Blue
Attitude: I receive innocent expression. I give innocent expression. I am innocent expression
Highlighting Breath - Take three short breaths on one inhale, then exhale through the mouth.

Forehead area
Color: Royal Blue
Attitude: I receive vision knowing. I give vision knowing. I am vision
knowing.
Unfolding Breath - Visualize a column of air coming in through the top of your head on a long slow inhale. Continue visualizing bringing the column of air down through the spine on the exhale, releasing through the legs and the feet. Allow the spirit contained in the breath to unfold and relax in every cell of  your body.

Crown of the head
Color: Violet
Attitude: I receive spirit. I give spirit. I am spirit.
* Practice one breathing rhythm after the other for one to three minutes each.

Enjoy!
